Precise, Personalized Care for Every Patient
The UAMS Health Radiation Oncology Center is equipped with the most comprehensive radiation therapy technologies to provide precise, personalized cancer care — all managed by a team of the nation’s leading experts with disease specific expertise.
Each patient’s tumor has a unique biological footprint. Treating cancer successfully using X-ray, proton radiation or a combination of both requires careful and thorough evaluation to determine the most effective treatment for each patient.
Choosing the right team for cancer care makes a big difference for your health. At the UAMS Health Radiation Oncology Center, you will find exceptional care with our specialists in radiation treatment.
Philips Spectral CT
UAMS Health is the first cancer center in the United States to have a Philips Spectral CT, also known as dual-energy CT technology which provides greater tumor visibility and tissue information than a conventional CT and reduces the number of CTs required for a patient. Dual-energy CT works in tandem with radiation therapy to improve dose calculation accuracy.

Treatment Team
The UAMS Health Radiation Oncology Team is one of the most experienced, highly trained teams in the nation with expertise in treating multiple cancers and tumor types.
Led by Fen Xia, M.D., Ph.D., a fellow of the American Society of Radiation Oncology, the team includes board certified radiation oncologists, licensed medical physicists, radiation therapists, dosimetrists and nurses.
Our clinicians are graduates of some of the top medical schools in the U.S., including Harvard, Vanderbilt, Duke and the University of Kansas, and have held positions at the Cleveland Clinic, MD Anderson, University of Florida Health Proton Therapy Institute, Maryland Proton Treatment Center, McLaren Proton Therapy Center and Shanghai Proton Center.
