Clinical Biography
Shami Nandy, M.D., is a geriatrician who sees patients at the Thomas and Lyon Longevity Clinic in the UAMS Donald W. Reynolds Institute on Aging. Dr. Nandy also serves on the geriatrics consult service at UAMS and will help to identify patients who are at high risk of falls and who might be developing delirium.

Dr. Shami Nandy is an assistant professor in the UAMS College of Medicine Department of Geriatrics.
She received her medical degree from Dhaka Medical College in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 2009. She completed her family medicine residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Monroe and then continued her training with a fellowship in geriatrics at UAMS.

Dr. Shami Nandy recently completed a case report, “Knowledge of Fall Risk Factors among Older Adults in South Central U.S.” and will be involved with clinical research on dementia.

She is very good and thorough but always seems rushed for time. She wanted to measure the growth on my thigh but there was no measuring tape in the cabinets. I love her but she always appears to be rushed. Yet, she doesn't rush me.
