Dr. Martin quickly told me how the surgery went and shared what he found during the procedure. It seemed to me his goal was to get in and out of my room as quickly as possible. He never asked how my recovery had been after the surgery. He only told me I would be in a boot for two weeks, not how to care for the incision. He didn't give me time to think about questions I might have. Thankfully, I thought of some when the young woman came into the room to take out my stitches, and she asked Dr. Martin for me. This was the third time I've visited with Dr. Martin, and if I can offer any advice, it would be to slow down when he's with his patients. Ask questions and listen more carefully. A few extra thoughtful minutes can make all the difference in the world to his bedside manner. He's an excellent surgeon.
