Rebekah Thacker, MNSc, RNC-NIC, started her career at UAMS in 2002, as a Chemistry Technologist in the Pediatric Laboratory, after graduating from the University of Central Arkansas with a Baccalaureate in Science. In 2005, she graduated with a Baccalaureate in Nursing from UAMS, and started her nursing career in the NICU at UAMS. After 5 years of direct patient care and 4 years as an RN IV Clinical Expert, she promoted to Advance Practice Partner in the NICU. She graduated with a Masterâs of Science in Nursing from UAMS in 2017, and in 2020, she promoted to Nursing Director of Research, Excellence and Magnet programs. She is currently in the PhD program and her interests include neonatal abstinence, evidence based practice/research, and disparities in care delivery.
