Amber Westpheling, RN – H4- Trauma/SICU/CVICU
Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Amber Westpheling, RN for being selected as the DAISY Award recipient for the month of September!
Amber Westpheling works on unit H4- Trauma/SICU/CVICU and was nominated by an employee. The nomination below reflects how Amber impacted their life in a very special way.
1st Nomination I was scared when I first came in and she looked me in my eyes and reassured me that I was okay and that she would take great care of me. Every day she strives to be the best nurse that I ever had. She was very gentle with me and very passionate about her job. When I needed her to come, she came with no hesitation. Anytime she entered my room I could tell she had a smile on her face even behind her mask. She gave me hope even when I didn’t have any. She didn’t freeze up when I went into A fib like previous nurses.
2nd Nomination She took excellent care of my sister. She made us feel like we were at home she came to help anytime we needed her. She was positive, joyful, and always had a smile on her face. I felt like if we had a problem, she was able to advocate for my sister effectively. On other floors my sister would call because her nurse held her pain meds and she felt neglected. This nurse (Amber W) had a big effect on my sister. My sister called me and told me “Sis I love my nurse she actually listens to me; she doesn’t make me feel alone”. That made me so much more comfortable leaving the hospital knowing that my sister after heart surgery was in good hands with nurse Amber W.
Great job, Amber!
