Jillian Swain, RN – E4 – Medical/Neuro ICU
Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Jillian Swain, RN for being selected as the DAISY Award recipient for the month of September!
Jillian works on E4 – Medical/Neuro ICY and was nominated by a family member of a patient. The nomination below reflects how Jillian impacted their life in a very special way.
“My aunt was unexpectedly admitted with viral encephalitis. We have a family that is large and very difficult to deal with a majority of the time. After a particularly rough day, Jillian went above and beyond to talk me through a detailed update without making me feel as though I were taking up her time. She was very honest and made me feel like my concerns were valid. Most importantly, she truly took care of my aunt’s husband (who is the most difficult of our family members) just as much as she took care of my aunt. While none of this seems to be above and beyond what’s expected of a nurse, Jillian truly did it all with a smile on her face. She was so patient, and it has been a long time since I have seen nursing care with such genuine kindness. Jillian provided a brightness during a rough and unexpected hardship for us, and she deserves to be recognized for it.”
Great job, Jillian Swain!
