Jason Patterson, RN
H4 – Trauma/SICU/CVICU
Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Jason Patterson, RN for being selected as the DAISY Award recipient for the month of February!
Jason Patterson works in the H4 – Trauma/SICU/CVICU unit and was nominated by a co-worker. The nomination below reflects how Jason impacted their life in a very special way.
Nomination: Today as we were walking down the hall Jason rushed past us carrying a small Christmas tree & a brown paper bag. Naturally we stopped him because we had quite a few questions. Jason explained that his patient had been told today that she would not recover from her injury & would be transitioning to comfort care later this afternoon. Her one wish was that she had a Christmas tree since she wasn’t expected to live through the Christmas season. While the patient’s family was scrambling to figure out where to find one for her, Jason walked down to the gift shop & bought one himself. The ladies in the gift shop added in a string of lights & some sparkly snowflakes when they heard the story. Soon his sweet little lady had a corner full of Christmas cheer in her ICU room.
Jason consistently goes above & beyond to provide excellent care for his patients. This afternoon was a prime example of his thoughtful and compassionate nature. We are so thankful to have Jason working here alongside us!
Great job, Jason!
