Constance Grady, Medical Assistant – University Women’s Clinic, Pine & Cedar
Please join the Center for Nursing Excellence in congratulating Constance Grady for being selected as the April BEE Award winners!
Constance is a medical assistant at the University Women’s Clinic at Pine & Cedar and was nominated by a co-workers. The following is the story of how Constance impacted the co-workers’ life in a way that she will never forget.
“Recently a patient was assaulted by her significant other in our clinic. It started as an argument in the hallway and quickly became very scary and violent. The pregnant patient was holding her one year old child while she was physically assaulted by her boyfriend. Many staff members responded to the fight but stayed back, Constance got right next to the fight, risking her own safety to protect the safety of the patient and her child. She was very brave and very smart and somehow de-escalated the situation. While she spoke to the man, another staff member was able to get close enough to safely remove the child from the altercation. Constance spoke to the man and was able to get him to stop hitting the woman. Constance risked herself to help protect the safety of our patient and her child – that is going above and beyond for patient care!!”
Way to go Constance.
Please congratulate Constance for Being Exceptional Every day at UAMS!
