About Dr. Davis
Clinical Biography
Romona Davis, M.D., is an ophthalmologist with the Harvey and Bernice Jones Eye Institute at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS). She is also a comprehensive ophthalmologist and an associate professor in the Department of Ophthalmology in the UAMS College of Medicine. She serves as the Medical Director for Ophthalmic Medical Technology Program in the College of Health Related Professions. Her special interests include cataracts and glaucoma.
Dr. Davis completed her ophthalmology residency and transitional internship at UAMS, where she also completed her medical school education. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in chemistry from Dillard University in New Orleans, Louisiana. She is an active member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the Arkansas Ophthalmological Society.
Although Dr. Davis has been a resident of Arkansas since 1993, she is a native of southwestern Louisiana, where most of her family remains. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and bicycling.
Dr. Davis is board-certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and sees patients at the Harvey and Bernice Jones Eye Institute and the John L. McClellan Memorial Veterans Hospital.

Dr. Davis is the best. She really takes time to talk to you about you. She wanted to know how I felt overall in general and encouraged me to stay healthy. She gave good advice on eye care and gave me samples to try. She spends time with patients. I really felt like she cared about me as an individual and trust me you don't always get that. I didn't feel rushed. I tell everybody about her because she is the best thing there.

Dr. Davis and her staff quickly analyzed the problem and immediately and obtain a colleague who specialized in treatment of a detached retina. He was going out of town so could not perform the necessary surgery but git me seen by a colleague that day(Friday) and Iwas scheduled for repair on the following Monday. All was handle professionally and judiciously.
