Dr. Goodwin's Academic Background
Academic Biography
Dr. Rachael Goodwin grew up in the rice and duck capital of the world, Stuttgart, AR. After graduating as valedictorian, she attended the University of Central Arkansas. She received a major in Biology / Pre-Med and as a member of the Norbert O. Schedler Honors College, gained minor in Interdisciplinary Studies. She then moved to Little Rock to attend the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences for medical school. She attended family medicine residency at UAMS Northeast – Jonesboro, where she was co-chief resident her third year. When determining how she wanted to give back to the State of Arkansas, she decided to sign on as faculty at UAMS North Central – Batesville to help teach and mentor Arkansas’ future family medicine physicians.
Dr. Goodwin spends her free time with her husband, David, and son, Henry. They are often traveling across the country trying new foods, watching the local sports teams, and adding to their state capital count.

The center, and all its people impress me and reminded me of what medicine was when I was growing up in the 50s. Kindness empathy, their ability and professionalism.

Dr. Was friendly and professional. The provider examined [PHI] and ask questions about any pain and how well she was sleeping and then went over the results of the her lab report . We felt like the Dr. Cared and [PHI] was in good hands. This was a good visit for me. As a caregiver the visit helped relieve the worry and stress. I think that most people don't realize what it is to care for a spouse.

Dr Goodwin listens and doesn't try to force me to do things I don't want to or believe in. I feel she has a genuine concern for my well-being and doesn't compromise her ethics or training by forcing unnecessary tests or medications on me. We discuss each aspect of my care and make the best decisions together for my health.
