About Dr. Moreno
Clinical Biography
Dr. Mauricio Moreno completed his medical degree at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile School of Medicine in Santiago, Chile. He then was a resident in general surgery at the University of Valparaiso in Chile. He completed his second residency in otolaryngology head and neck surgery at the University of Chile in Santiago, Chile. He had three fellowships all at The University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. His fellowships were in head and neck surgical oncology, microvascular reconstructive surgery and surgical endocrinology.
His clinical interests are in head and neck surgery, thyroid surgery and vascular anomalies. He has made numerous presentations around the country and even internationally. Dr. Moreno is also involved in clinical research in developing a new strategy for cancer treatment called Photo Dynamic Therapy.
Dr. Moreno enjoys taking time to talk to his patients and fully explain their conditions and treatment to them. When patients come to him whether it’s for a common procedure or after a cancer diagnosis, they can be sure that they are in capable, compassionate hands.

This visit was an outstanding visit... I was treated extremely well, not only in a professional manner but with kindness and caring by everyone I encountered... the Cancer Center facility was impressive... I was given clear instructions on where to park and where to go... but most impressive were Dr Moreno, Dr [NAME] and Dr [NAME] ... world class physicians... they provide destination care... I understand why the UAMS ENT Department is nationally recognized...

My check in nurse [NAME] was wonderful. I only want her to check me in lol. The nurse who explained my surgery date after my consultation with Dr. Moreno was Awesome as well as the Dr. Kudos UAMS!

My appointment was at 11:00 a.m. and I did not see the Doctor until 12:45 p.m. I set in the exam room for 1 1/2 hours.

I had very kind doctors and nurses while I was there and they were very, what's the word, they were very, they explained everything well before they did it and what they were going to do and why and they were very kind.

The Dr wanted to see my dad back in 1-2 weeks for more tests and followup. Weren't able to schedule until 3 weeks out. Dad is getting worse while we wait and is in a lot of pain.

I was very pleased with Dr. Moreno and UAMS Hospital, too. I recommend, I've already recommended, him and the hospital to everybody I know that I come in contact that may have problems such as what I had. And I'm very, was very pleased to... that he helped me get through this very difficult time and he did it very professionally. And he was always very kind and very nice and he always told me just like it was. And I was so pleased and appreciate so much that he treated me like he did and he recommended the radiologist that he recommended in [CITY] and tried to help me out so that I wouldn't have to travel so far to get my treatments. And I was most definitely pleased to find out
