About Dr. Hire
Clinical Biography
Justin Michael Hire, M.D., FAAOS, is a board-certifed, fellowship-trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in pediatric orthopaedic conditions and injuries at Arkansas Children’s Hospital Northwest in Springdale.
Dr. Hire received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma in 2011 and completed his internship and residency in orthopaedic surgery at Eisenhower Army Medical Center in Fort Gordon, Georgia in 2016. During his residency training, he was the 2014 recipient of the Resident Scholar Award for the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society annual meeting and the 2016 recipient of a full tuition scholarship for the annual International Pediatric Orthopaedic Symposium.
Upon completion of his residency, Dr. Hire spent the next four years at the General Leonard Wood Army Community Hospital in Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri as an orthopaedic surgeon in the military. As part of Operation Inherent Resolve, he was deployed to Ash Shaddadi, Syria in 2017, where he spent five months serving on the 541st Forward Surgical Team. He also traveled to Blantyre, Malawi, Africa as a volunteer pediatric orthopaedic surgeon with Cure International. During his service in the U.S. Army, Dr. Hire was the recipient of numerous honors and awards including the Army Commendation Medal with C Device (earned in combat), Army Achievement Medal, Army Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal.
Following his military service, Dr. Hire completed a one-year fellowship in Pediatric Orthopaedics at the Cincinnati Children’s Hospital in Ohio. He joined Arkansas Children’s Northwest in February 2022 from the University of Missouri Health Care Women and Children’s Hospital in Columbia, Missouri, where he was an assistant professor of clinical orthopaedic surgery.
Dr. Hire is a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA) and the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). He is an assistant professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery in the College of Medicine at UAMS.
