Dr. Modi's Research
Dr. Modi joined UAMS and Arkansas Children’s Hospital in 2021 with the goal of starting a new Pediatric Bone Marrow Transplant and Cellular Therapies program. This new program will offer services of BMT from matched or mismatched unrelated and related donors. The Cellular Therapy program will focus on providing Chimeric Antigen Receptor T cell (CAR T cell) therapy for relapsed and refractory cancer and Gene Therapy for children with hemoglobinopathies. Dr. Modi is committed to developing a comprehensive program that drives world-class education, exceptional clinical service and groundbreaking research. With the availability of the BMT program at UAMS, Hematology Oncology fellows don’t have to travel to Dallas, TX for one month during their fellowship to receive BMT-specific education. This program is also providing clinical education to Allergy-Immunology fellows and residents. Dr. Modi has been mentoring medical students with an interest in cancer and BMT. He has been working with Dr. Garcia-Fernandez to develop a new Immune Compromised Infectious Diseases program at Arkansas Children’s Hospital.
Research Interests
Dr. Modi is actively engaged in research looking at short term and long-term outcomes in children with cancer and BMT.
