About Dr. Grooms
Clinical Biography
Amy Grooms, M.D., joined the Department of Psychiatry as an assistant professor in 2019. Dr. Grooms graduated from UAMS in 2013 and then completed her General Adult Psychiatry Residency and Consult-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship at Brown University. She most recently served as a consult liaison psychiatrist with the Miriam Hospital Department of Psychiatry in Providence, Rhode Island. Dr. Grooms primarily provides psychiatric consultation services to patients admitted to the UAMS general hospital. She is also the medical director for the Walker Family Clinic trauma disorders subspecialty clinic, the Center for Trauma Prevention, Recovery and Innovation. Her academic interests include the wide ranging effects of trauma-related disorders, substance use disorders and collaborative care models in psychiatry.
