COVID-19 Update
Before Coming to a UAMS Health Location
If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, think you may have been exposed to someone with COVID-19, or have tested positive for COVID-19, you will need to reschedule your appointment.
Patients who have had a COVID-19 infection may have in-person appointments 21 days after infection or a positive COVID test, as long as your symptoms are improving.
Call the UAMS Health appointment center at (501) 686-8000 to reschedule your appointment or ask if your appointment can be done by phone or video. Please call your clinic if you have questions about coming for an in-person visit.
What to Expect at Your Appointment
Everyone who comes to a UAMS Health location is required to wear a mask and pass a health screening. You will also have your temperature taken. Please do not remove your mask until asked to do so by a UAMS Health employee.
Visitors required or recommended to quarantine by the Arkansas Department of Health (ADH) due to illness, potential exposure, travel or other reason are not allowed at UAMS Health locations until cleared by ADH.
Outpatient Visitor Guidelines
One visitor may come to your appointment with you. You may also include others in your appointment by phone or video chat. Visitors must be 18 or older. Some clinics have additional visitor guidelines. Call your clinic for more information if you have a visitation question.
Please visit our COVID-19 resources to learn more about what to expect at your appointment.
About Psychiatry Clinic in Fayetteville
As a clinical branch of the UAMS Psychiatric Research Institute, our clinic offers behavioral health care to patients in Northwest Arkansas.
Options for Major Depressive Disorders
For some people, depression can be managed with oral antidepressants alone. But for people with treatment-resistant depression or major depressive disorder with suicidal thoughts or actions, there are additional treatment options. Our clinic is certified to offer Spravato nasal spray treatment for those who qualify.
Trauma-Informed Care
Our team is trained in trauma-informed awareness. We desire to have a whole picture of a patient’s life situation so that we can provide care that is focused on healing. Trauma can have a widespread impact on a person’s life, but there are paths to recovery.
Cultural Sensitivity
Cultural sensitivity is a priority at the Psychiatry Clinic. For patients who communicate in languages other than English or who are hearing impaired, there are interpreters available 24/7. This includes in-person, teleconference, or phone interpreting. We also have intake paperwork translated into Spanish and can accommodate other languages upon request.
Appointment Information
The Psychiatry Clinic is a self-referral clinic. Although UAMS does not require a referral for this clinic, some insurance providers require a referral for specialty care. Please check with your insurance provider prior to requesting an appointment.
What to Bring to Your Appointment
For your first appointment, please bring a photo ID and your insurance card along with a list of any medications you’re taking, including over-the-counter medications. You should also bring any medical records you can provide, including slides or test results from other clinics.
For future appointments, please provide updated medical and insurance information.
Telemedicine Information
In an effort to keep our patients and health care workers safe, we are offering virtual visits and phone visits.
This service is available to both new and existing patients. Patients should call 479-713-8350 to schedule a telemedicine appointment.
