About the Nutrition Services Clinic at Freeway Medical Tower
At UAMS Health, our dietitians treat patients with a wide variety of conditions, offering nutrition advice and help for your individual needs.
Weight loss is a concern and a goal for many people. Whether or not you have a medical condition, you can come to our clinic if you are interested in improving your health and/or losing weight. Our dietitians will sit down with you to help you develop the best plan to meet your health goals.
Heart disease can be caused by a variety of circumstances, but an increasing number of cases are the result of poor nutrition. At UAMS Health, we can help you manage or treat your heart disease by looking at your diet to see how it can be changed to best help you with your condition. While working to maintain an ideal weight, key aspects to keep in mind with a heart-healthy diet are decreasing saturated fat intake and reducing sodium levels.
In addition, we also treat patients who have genetic conditions, ALS and celiac disease. Celiac disease is becoming more common in the U.S. and is a lifelong inherited autoimmune condition in which eating foods with gluten causes damage to the small intestine and does not allow food to be properly absorbed.
We recognize that the same plan does not work for everyone, so we work with you to determine the best nutrition plan for your individual needs and situation.
