About Movement Disorders Clinic
In our Movement Disorders Clinic at UAMS, we see patients who experience tremors, involuntary movements and gait difficulty.
To combat movement disorders, our caring and compassionate staff members provide a well-coordinated, multidisciplinary approach. Our neurologists, neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists and other specialists combine their expertise to help treat your condition effectively. Close collaboration between the different departments ensures better care for you.
Because UAMS is a teaching hospital, we offer state-of-the-art equipment and provide treatments incorporating the latest advances and research in genetics, prescription drugs and surgical techniques used to treat movement disorders. Our research efforts include randomized clinical trials for different disorders. These new techniques and studies help expand the frontiers of diagnosis and treatment available to you.

Our comprehensive movement disorders clinics includes specially trained neurologists, neurosurgeons, social workers, nurses, nutritionists, pharmacists, and physical, occupational, and speech therapists, working together as a team to care for people with movement disorders and to support their families.
Education and Support Programs
Our Center Coordinators serve to organize support groups, wellness activities, educational programs and resources for Arkansans with these disorders.
Training Programs
We train the next generation of specialists by teaching students, neurologists in training and other providers how to recognize and manage movement disorders. This means our patients receive their care from some of the most knowledgeable and experienced movement disorder specialists in the country.
Clinical Trials
Our researchers are committed to discovering how to better treat and find cures for these disorders. By participating in clinical trials at UAMS, you may have access to monitoring and treatments that are not available widely yet.
Parking Information
Parking is available in Parking 3 at the corner of Cedar and Capitol. Valet parking is available in front of the Spine Institute for a fee.

- Take the Spine Institute bridge at Level 3A in Parking 3.
- Exit the walkway, take the elevator to the fifth floor.
Appointment Information
Appointments with the Neurology Clinic are by referral only. Please contact your primary care doctor or visit one of our doctors in the Center for Primary Care to obtain a referral.
If you prefer to call and request an appointment, please call (501) 686-5838 for new patients, returning patients and referral appointments.

What to Bring to Your Appointment
For your first appointment, please bring a photo ID and your insurance card along with a list of any medications you’re taking, including over-the-counter medications. You should also bring any medical records you can provide, including slides or test results from other clinics.
For future appointments, please provide updated medical and insurance information.
Telemedicine Information
In an effort to keep our patients and health care workers safe, we are offering virtual visits and phone visits.
This service is available to both new and existing patients. Patients should call 501-686-5838 to schedule a telemedicine appointment.
