If you are sick or have a minor injury and need to talk to someone right away, you can access UAMS HealthNow for a video visit with a UAMS Health provider 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., seven days a week.

About the Cancer Genetics Clinic

Since cancer is common, you probably have at least one relative who has experienced cancer at some point in his or her life.

As many as 10% of those diagnosed with some forms of cancer have an “inherited” cancer, which means it was genetically passed down from parents to children. When we know that someone is at risk for an inherited cancer, we can potentially prevent it from happening.

Our genetics physicians are the only doctors in Arkansas specializing in the diagnosis and management of cancer syndromes (the genetic predisposition to develop cancer). Cancer genetics specialists may include genetic counselors and advanced practice nurses with special training in cancer genetics.

Parking Information

Parking is available in Parking 3, a parking deck at the corner of South Cedar Street and West Capitol Avenue. Parking stubs for patients are validated in the clinic. For your convenience, park on Levels 2B, 3B, 4B or 5B.

Valet parking is available in front of the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute for a fee.

Directions From the Parking Area

Take the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute elevators in Parking 3 at Level 2B.
Exit the walkway on Level 2B of Parking 3 and you will be at the entrance to the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute.
Enter the UAMS Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute and take Elevator D to the second floor or visit the Welcome Desk for assistance.

We will talk with you about your needs and may request further information be sent to us from your other physicians.

Although UAMS does not require a physician referral, some insurance providers require a referral for specialty care. Please check with your insurance provider before requesting an appointment.

What to Bring to Your Appointment

For your first appointment, please bring a photo ID and your insurance card along with a list of any medications you’re taking, including over-the-counter medications. You should also bring any medical records you can provide, including slides or test results from other clinics.

For future appointments, please provide updated medical and insurance information.

UAMS Health MyChart

UAMS Health MyChart is a free online patient portal that gives you free, secure 24-hour access to your health information. You can see your lab and test results, send messages to your doctor, make appointments, pre-register for appointments, refill prescriptions and pay your bills. Ask your provider or the clinic staff to send you a sign-up link by email or text. Once you have this link, you have eight hours to sign up with just your name and date of birth.
